Wednesday:

Warwick - 2.40 Beau Quali

4/7 (William Hill)

This race has the propensity to cut up and this looks a golden opportunity for the Dan Skelton trained BEAU QUALI to get off the mark under rules for the first time as he makes his debut over Fences. In all likelihood, Beau Quali would have won by half the track at Newcastle back in January until crashing out three flights from home.

Connections have referenced that it has taken a while to restore his confidence, and he ran a race with plenty of zest when runner-up over Hurdles at this venue last week on his first start of the season.

That would have been a ring-rust removal job before embarking on a Chasing career, so he should now be spot on for this. Harry Skelton is in the saddle and Beau Quali should be suited by the step up in distance.

Musselburgh - 4.38  Rory The Cat

6/1 (Ladbrokes)

RORY THE CAT has three wins at the track, but crucially has a win and a place from just two starts over Course and Distance, so can benefit from the step back up in distance here. The greater taxation on stamina is a big tick in the box here, as is the release of grip from the assessor.

Rory The Cat gets to tackle this contest off a mark of 51, and that sees the 5-year-old now racing off mark 5lb lower than when last successful, so there can be no excuses from that point of view.

Underfoot conditions should be spot-on, and the yard has had a couple of winners lately after a quiet spell. Connor Beasley takes the ride, and a bold show can be expected.

Catterick - 4.50 Vince Le Prince

3/1 (Ladbrokes)

VINCE LE PRINCE has gone off the boil a little bit in recent times, but has three Course and Distance wins and a placed effort on the CV from just five starts, so has to be taken seriously here.

From a Handicapping perspective, he is starting to look dangerously well treated, as he arrives into this assignment off a mark of 68, which now puts him 5lb lower than when last in the winner's enclosure.

He has some smart form for the grade at this track so can never be written off, and it is also worth noting that Vince Le Prince is very versatile in regards to underfoot requirements - he has winning form on fast ground and on a slow surface that holds him in good stead.

Thursday:

Southwell - 2.30 Pike Road

13/2 (Coral)

This looks a good opportunity to get in the winner's enclosure for the Martin Keighley trained PIKE ROAD. The Cotswold handler has secured the services of ace pilot Sean Bowen, and this combination are the ones to side with here.

The 6-year-old was travelling well at Uttoxeter last time out but then capsized at the 7th fence. With a clear round where he has to be considered on Chase debut, where a mark of 110 could easily underestimate this unexposed sort who should have plenty more to offer, especially over this distance.

Ground conditions should be spot on, and he should have major claims in this company.

Friday:

Fontwell - 3.03 Fresh Perspective

10/11 (Coral)

Jamie Snowden and Gavin Sheehan team up with FRESH PERSPECTIVE who looks an exciting type now tackling Hurdles for the first time.

The five-year-old looked fairly smart when winning at Uttoxeter last November, and then found things too tough next time out when tackling Listed company at Ascot just before Christmas where he was far too keen.

Given time off since, he looks just the type who can flourish for a yard who looks to have a nice type on their hands. Starting off at a small track like Fontwell looks an ideal opportunity to get some confidence in this sphere and connections will be looking for a big performance and he is one I like the look of.

Ascot - 5.15 Wujjood

5/1 (Ladbrokes)

We have a Classified Stakes over 1m, and this can go the way of the William Haggas trained WUJJOOD. The daughter of Sea The Stars scooped a nice pot at Pontefract back in June, and the filly has performed with plenty of credit in two defeats since, when runner-up over 10f at

Newbury, and then ran as well as could be expected in a Listed encounter at Salisbury last time out.

However, the most important factor for this filly is the drop back to 1m - she has shaped on both of those occasions as though 10f was stretching her stamina, and a drop back in distance would really suit her.

On paper there is a lot of upside to her in this race, and this unexposed sort represents the William Haggas and Tom Marquand combination who continue to operate in fine fettle.

Saturday:

Newmarket - 2.40 Fallen Angel

9/4 (Ladbrokes)

FALLEN ANGEL is a class act, and if she gets the green light for this, she will take a lot of beating for the Karl Burke team.

The Wathnan Racing representative has been in rude health recently, winning back to back Group 1's at Deauville and Leopardstown, and if bringing that form to the table, then it is going to be very tough to knock her out of the frame.

The application of cheekpieces appears to have really woken her up and she will get the nod from me in what should be a cracking encounter. James Doyle will very likely be in the saddle, and the combination has a good rapport.

Redcar - 3.20 Song Of The Clyde

5/2 (William Hill)

SONG OF THE CLYDE has some excellent form in the book and can make his class-edge tell in this assignment. The Clive Cox trained colt scooped a big pot on the Knavesmire two starts ago, and then went down inside the hard yards in the Scientific Stakes at Doncaster last time out.

That was an excellent run in defeat and given his running style, it will be no surprise if he were to prove happier here coming back to the 6f - the extra half furlong mattered last time out as the petrol light came on, so back at this trip looks his optimum.

He looks as though he isn't too fussy in regards to ground requirements and he can prove tough to beat in this company.

Newmarket - 3.50 Consecrated

The William Haggas trained CONSECRATED was behind Hot Flame over 1m2f at Haydock last time out, and can turn the tables here on better terms, and with the step up in trip t0 1m4f definitely in his favour.

She didn't get the best of passages last time out, and possibly lacked a bit of tactical speed when needed. Although I believe she shapes like an individual who will be much happier over this distance and should be open to any amount of improvement.

The yard is in cracking form, and this individual who has been a slow burner looks ready to make waves over middle distances in Handicap company.
