Premier League Darts night 10 Manchester 9 April

Stephen Bunting ending his Premier League drought on night nine in Berlin was a result not many saw coming.

The Englishman saw off Nathan Aspinall, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price to not only claim his first three wins of the competition but also his very first nightly victory.

If that wasn’t good enough for him, he only went and won his first European Tour title at the International Darts Open at the weekend too. When he hits top form, Bunting is hard to stop.

Luke Littler will be aiming to bounce back after a loss to Chris Dobey, while Michael van Gerwen withdrew from Berlin due to injury and will be seeking a winning return.

Only five points separate third from sixth in the Premier League table, which makes the second half of the tournament is where you might find the best value bets. Manchester presents an opportunity for several players to establish their playoff credentials.

Key talking points: Stephen Bunting can continue his fine form in Manchester

As mentioned, Bunting has enjoyed a purple patch over the past seven days. Might this continue in Manchester?

He takes on Humphries in the quarter-finals in what could be a thriller of a clash if both bring their best form to the oche.

The game is a repeat of the semi-final in Berlin, which Bunting won 6-2. Not only did he score more 180s than the 2024 world champion, but he had a better average too.

Littler takes on Price in what could be the standout tie of the quarter-final lineup. Price has performed well this year, winning two nights and currently sits fourth in the table.

Add in the fact he has won six consecutive games against Littler dating back to April 2024, he appears to hold the upper hand in the rivalry.

The world champion lost to Dobey in Berlin, averaging just 93.28 and is currently on a three-game losing run. Could Price capitalise?

Elsewhere, Nathan Aspinall takes on Rob Cross in what is perhaps the toughest tie to predict on night ten. Cross has been steady, if unspectacular, in the Premier League this year, securing wins over Price, Humphries and Van Gerwen.

He has yet to make a final, however, something the Englishman will be hoping changes this week.

Despite this, Aspinall has won the previous seven matches against ‘Voltage’, a run that dates back to November 2023.

Aspinall ranks third in terms of 180s hit in the Premier League (47) and if he gets going, he could pose Cross plenty of problems.

Van Gerwen missed last week after withdrawing through injury and he will be keen on getting back to winning ways against Dobey.

The Dutchman has won their previous two Premier League encounters this year, conceding just five legs in the process. His winning run against ‘Hollywood’ stretches back to February 2024.

Dobey lost to Peter Wright in the last-16 of Players Championship 11 on Tuesday afternoon and has won just four times in this competition so far.

FIRST’s top tip for Premier League Darts night 10

In the Premier League this season, two of the three clashes between Price and Littler have gone over 9.5 legs.

As such, siding with over 9.5 total legs in this blockbuster match at 6/5 on BetMGM is our best bet of the week.

Extra tips

Michael Van Gerwen to beat Chris Dobey – 4/5 (BetMGM)

Given his recent record against the Englishman, plus the fact he has an easier route to a second weekly final, siding with MvG to defeat Dobey at these odds is excellent value.

Rob Cross to average over 97.5 against Nathan Aspinall – 10/11 (BetMGM)

After nine events of the Premier League season, Cross has an average of 98.89 across 15 games, ranking him second out of all the players.

If he performs to the best of his ability, averaging over 97.5 at 10/11 is a generous price indeed.

Nathan Aspinall to hit over 2.5 180s against Rob Cross – 1/2 (BetMGM)

In 15 matches this season, Aspinall averages 3.13 180s per game in the Premier League. Despite suffering a 6-2 defeat to Bunting last week, the 33-year-old still managed to hit five 180s during the game.
