Premier League darts betting tips: Chris Dobey can boost his playoff hopes in Liverpool
Chris Dobey delivered a stunning performance in Rotterdam last week to claim the title on night 11, defeating Luke Humphries, Nathan Aspinall and Stephen Bunting along the way.
Prior to this victory, he had won just four matches all season and this should give him confidence ahead of the Premier League returning to Liverpool this week.

Only five points separate Aspinall in third with Rob Cross in seventh place. It’s what makes the Premier League Darts so exciting and a great betting opportunity.
With only a few weeks left of the regular season, those outside the top four know what needs to be done to make the season-ending finale.
Quarter-final fixtures for night 12 in Liverpool
Luke Humphries vs Nathan Aspinall
Michael van Gerwen vs Luke Littler
Rob Cross vs Stephen Bunting
Gerwyn Price vs Chris Dobey
Key talking points: Michael van Gerwen has a point to prove this week
Van Gerwen won his 38th European Tour title at the German Darts Grand Prix earlier this week, defeating Gian van Veen in the final.
The Dutchman even hit a nine-darter in his win over Ryan Searle on his way to a much needed triumph.
"I needed this. I really needed this." Said Van Gerwen after the final and it will give him a major jolt ahead of a tantalising clash against Luke Littler this week.
The Englishman has won three of their four encounters in the competition this season, but it is the three-time world champion who comes in with the better form.
Both players averaged over 100 and combined to throw 14 180s the last time they met. Hopefully the tie will be as exciting this time around.
Humphries hasn’t won a nightly title since week four and faces an inform Aspinall who will be looking to replicate his 6-4 win from the final in Manchester a couple of weeks ago.
The 2024 world champion ranks third for total average and 180s scored in the Premier League, but he hasn’t been able to convert this into victories, losing four times in the quarter finals since the end of February.
The ‘Asp’ sits third in the table, boosted by his victory in night ten and with Humphries not quite at his best recently, he has the perfect opportunity to take full advantage.
While the top half of the draw is stacked with two blockbuster ties, the bottom half is wide open.
The match between Cross and Bunting could go either way. Cross might not have a nightly title as of yet, but he does rank second behind Litter for tournament average (99.49) while also ranking second for 100+ checkouts (14 in 17 games) which make him an opponent to be fearful of.
Bunting may have lost his first eight matches – a record since the format was introduced in 2022 – yet his performance in Berlin gave everyone a glimpse of just how good he can be.
He defeated Humphries 6-2 in the semi-finals, before rallying from 5-4 down against Price in the final to claim the £10k nightly prize.
Dobey enjoyed his own breakthrough last week and if he can follow this up, there is no reason for him not to reach a second consecutive final.
With one win against each other this season, a winner is difficult to call. Dobey has lost just one of his last five games, whereas the Welshman has won only two of his previous five.
Whoever wants it most will come out victorious and we all know how well Price plays when backed into a corner…
FIRST’s top tip for Premier League Darts night 12
Given his impressive average in the Premier League this season, plus the fact he has won his last eight matches against Bunting, siding with Cross to win at evens with BetMGM is FIRST’s best bet of the night.
Extra tips
Michael van Gerwen vs Luke Littler over 9.5 legs – Evens (BetMGM)
Both players have a point to prove this week. Van Gerwen will be looking to carry on momentum from his tour victory in Germany earlier this week. Littler, on the other hand, is aiming for his first final since week eight.
If both perform at their best, this will be a close run match. No doubt about that.
Luke Humphries vs Nathan Aspinall over 5.5 total 180s – 4/6 (BetMGM)
Aspinall has hit 66 180s across 20 matches (3.3 per game) while Humphries has recorded 62 from 23 matches (2.7 per game). The pair rank only behind Littler in this metric and a price of 4/6 is very generous indeed.
