Arsenal vs Bayern Munich tips and predictions: Will Kane score on his return to north London?
Arsenal state of play
Arsenal have a lot to be satisfied about right now. Sunday’s comprehensive North London Derby win over Tottenham Hotspur opened up a six-point advantage for the Gunners at the top of the Premier League, with belief becoming even more palpable that this is their season to win the title.
Going into matchweek 5, the outlook is rosy in the Champions League too with Arsenal one of only three teams to have a perfect record after four games. Bayern Munich are one of the others to have won every match so far.

Wednesday’s meeting at the Emirates Stadium could be an opportunity for Arsenal to show their Champions League candidacy is just as strong as their Premier League one.
Bayern Munich state of play
No team has scored more goals in this season’s Champions League than Bayern Munich who have found the back of the net 14 times in just four outings.
The Bavarians boast a fearsome frontline that consists of Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz, although the latter will miss Wednesday’s trip to North London through suspension.
Nonetheless, Bayern have already overcome Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain in this season’s Champions League and have the quality to see off Arsenal too.
Key talking point: How badly will injuries and suspensions affect both teams?
Arsenal didn’t miss the injured Gabriel Magalhaes much against Spurs on Sunday, but that was largely because of how little attacking threat the visitors to the Emirates Stadium posed, generating just 0.07 in expected goals (xG).
Against Bayern Munich, the situation will be entirely different. Piero Hincapie will surely face a tougher test from Kane than he did from Richarlison. Riccardo Calafiori will have his hands full against Olise.
Diaz’s suspension for seeing red away to PSG last time out could see Olise moved to the left with Lennart Karl brought into the lineup. It’s possible Kane could also be used as a number 10 behind Nicolas Jackson.
Between Arsenal and Bayern, they could field a lineup of superstars who are currently injured that would include Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyokeres, Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies among others. Which team will absorb this better?

Eberechi Eze dominated Sunday’s north London derby, scoring three of Arsenal’s four goals. The England international will once again be an attacking threat against Bayern Munich in his free role behind Mikel Merino.
Against Spurs, Eze registered six shots - more than any other player. He is also Arsenal’s most prolific shot-taker over the season as a whole, averaging 2.5 shots per 90 minutes.
Arsenal will do their best to activate the space in between the lines and Eze is the attacker through which much of their play will flow through.

While both teams will attempt to control Wednesday’s match, the game will be decided by the attacking quality on the pitch.
Kane has netted five times in just four Champions League outings this season. On the Arsenal side of things, Leandro Trossard and Calafiori will give Konrad Laimer plenty to think about down the left.
Laimer has been booked more times this season than any other Bayern player.
Team news
Gabriel sat out Sunday’s north London derby and is expected to miss Wednesday’s game against Bayern Munich too, meaning Hincapie is in line to retain his place alongside William Saliba.
Odegaard, Havertz, Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus are also unavailable for the Premier League leaders, leaving Mikel Arteta short of depth in some areas.
Diaz will pay for his red card against PSG by taking a seat in the stands on Wednesday night while Serge Gnabry is another first-choice attacker on the sidelines for the German champions.
