Ted's Weekend Treble: "Djelo should take a lot of beating at Huntingdon"
It is always good action on Peterborough Chase day at Huntingdon, and Ed Quigley serves up a trio of bets for the card...
Huntingdon - 12.10 Datsalrightcharlie
There aren't many yards in better form at the moment than Jamie Snowden's Upper Lambourn outfit, and he looks to have a solid chance here of adding to the winning tally with the lightly-raced five-year-old, DATSALRIGHTCHARLIE.
The gelding absolutely hacked up on his first start over hurdles back in March when he ran away from his rivals at this venue in authoritative style. After a couple of placed efforts in good races, he returns to Huntingdon where trip and ground should be absolutely spot on for him.
Off a mark of 103, he is open to any amount of improvement in handicap company, so this unexposed individual looks capable of producing more. Isabelle Ryder claims 6lb, and this combination looks to have a great chance of getting back to winning ways here.

Huntingdon - 1.45 De Kingpin
I expect plenty of improvement from DE KINGPIN after he finished fourth on Chase debut at Ffos Las in October. He was entitled to need the run on that occasion after returning from a 200-day layoff. On the whole, he jumped pretty well before tiring, and should have therefore tightened up fitness-wise, and will be much straighter for this outing.
I also think the step up in his trip will be in his favour, and any rain that arrives will only enhance his claims. The Ben Pauling team have been in good form, and Ben Jones takes the ride on this six-year-old, who drops to a career-low mark of 111 as he slips back into a Class 4.
He is shouldering top weight for a reason, and I think he can make his touch of class shine through in this grade with a fluent round of jumping. There is no doubting Fern Hill is the main danger, but the handicapper may have the upper hand now.

Huntingdon - 3.00 Djelo
DJELO showed a blend of guts and class to land the Charlie Hall Chase on his seasonal reappearance, and he should take a lot of beating returning to Huntingdon. In last year's renewal, Djelo wiped the floor with the opposition, and a repeat of that effort will naturally see him very tough to beat in these circumstances.
He is a slick jumper and traveller when on song, and it would be no surprise to see him get the job done here to kickstart Venetia Williams' season. If Djelo wins with authority, then the King George at Kempton in three weeks' time will surely be on the radar, as this year's Kempton showpiece looks very wide open.
But first things first, Djelo has to take care of business here, and looks to have all the tools necessary to make it back-to-back wins in this race. Charlie Deutsch takes the ride, and I like their claims.
