Ted's Weekend Treble: Eyes down for Sandown
There are some smart sorts heading to the track at Sandown on Sunday, and Ed Quigley offers up his value plays at the Esher venue.
Sandown - 1.30 Ike Sport
This is a muddling affair, where you can make a case for every horse in the field. IKE SPORT is a horse who blows hot and cold but has plenty of ability.
He is now starting to look fairly well handicapped, and you have to bear in mind that this horse moves into much calmer waters here after finding the Silver Trophy at Chepstow too hot to handle last time out.
This looks like a much more suitable assignment, where the seven-year returns to a venue in which he has scored over course and distance in the past. Underfoot conditions should be fine, and this horse has a touch of class when at his best, so shouldn't be dismissed from calculations.
Bradley Harris takes the ride, and this combination could be capable of causing a minor upset.

Sandown - 2.40 Continuance
Freddie Keighley is excellent value for his 7lb claim, and I wouldn't rule out the chances of CONTINUANCE causing a relative upset.
The four-year-old showed some smart form last season before losing his way in a tough race at Cheltenham's April meeting. He ran no sort of race at all at Plumpton on the comeback trail last time out, but trainer Martin Keighley warned that his representative was an individual who would badly need the run and ran accordingly.
Expected to be much sharper this time around, who can't be overlooked in a muddling four-runner affair, where if he put his best foot forward, he would be more than capable of getting involved at the business end of proceedings.
There is unfinished business with this lightly-raced sort, and I am looking forward to seeing him run. He could be well treated off a mark of 120.

Sandown - 3.15 Twig
TWIG has danced many dances, but is one not to overlook in this compelling Veteran's Chase. The Ben Pauling-trained 10-year-old has run in some massive races over the last few seasons, running well at Cheltenham Festivals, and was last seen finishing tenth in the Aintree Grand National back in April.
This represents an easier test, and it isn't hard to envisage Twig, who is traditionally a strong traveller, getting himself into contention here.
Traditionally a smart jumper, he can utilise his assets around Sandown, which is notoriously one of the harder jumping tracks in the country. Trip and ground will be fine, and off a mark of 142, he is just starting to ease down the weights.
Beau Morgan is on board to take off 5lb, and the Naunton Downs runner could easily roll back the years here to get involved at a value price.
