Ted’s Treble: Tuesday’s Chepstow and Worcester tips and predictions
With talk of a new horse racing ‘super league’ potentially on the horizon in an attempt to spice up the existing racing calendar, we’ve gone back to basics to take a look at some of the best value bets ahead of Tuesday’s action with our new expert tipster Ed Quigley.
Jet Of Dreams - Worcester 2.30 (9/2)
Warren Greatrex has his string in fine fettle at present, operating at just below a 40% strike-rate for May.
The Lambourn handler can enhance that record here with JET OF DREAMS, who has won two of his last three starts, and still looks open to improvement now tackling a career-high mark.

This unexposed 7-year-old jumped and travelled well when getting the job done at Chepstow last time out, and looks to be an individual operating right at the peak of his powers at the moment. The extended 2m at Worcester on a sound surface should be spot on for this assignment with jockey James Bowen also in red-hot form at the moment.
This small field scenario should suit, and a bold showing can be expected from Jet Of Dreams.
Macs Dilemma e/w - Chepstow 4.20 (18/1 four places)

I'm going to take a swing at MACS DILEMMA here as an each-way player. It has been a long time between drinks for the 7-year-old, as it is approaching nearly two years since he was last in the winner's enclosure.
However, there are plenty of positives for a horse with his CV, that means he cannot be overlooked for this assignment. He has 4 wins at the Welsh venue, and specifically over course and distance he has form figures of 1st and 2nd - a trip he rarely tackles these days.

Therefore it is interesting they have popped the hood on for the first time to sharpen him up as he comes down in distance - he could just enjoy returning to sprinting once more. The other flipside of a few below-par efforts over the last year or so means he now looks undeniably well handicapped on his form of 2023.
His last win came off a mark of 74 (at this track), and he now gets to have a crack at this off 6lb lower. The 240-day absence could be seen as a worry, but the horse has won off the back of a long layoff before so I wouldn't be holding that against him.
Thankyourluckystar - Worcester 4.30 (10/3)
THANKYOURLUCKYSTAR has been consistent and frustrating in equal measure in recent times, but is thoroughly unexposed over staying trips, and this 2m7f on a Flat track with good ground should be ideal for this 9-year-old who doesn't have many miles on the clock.
Alistair Ralph's representative has only had the two starts over similar trips to this, and has shown renewed enthusiasm granted a greater test of stamina, and it has also helped improve his jumping, where they are going a yard slower over this distance.

Over much shorter trips he looked as though he was in top-gear all the way, but looks much happier at this tempo. Harry Skelton always seems to be riding winners, and that is backed-up statistically, as at the time of writing, he has ridden 8 winners from his last 16 rides so continues to be riding right at the top of his game.
The handicapper has just started to act favourably, as he has now eased to an official mark of 106 which leaves him just 2lb higher than when last successful. He is a previous winner at the venue too, so a return to the winner's enclosure would be far from a surprise.
Don't forget Ed will be back ahead of Thursday’s racing, as day two of York's excellent Dante Meeting comes under the spotlight...
