Tottenham vs. Chelsea tips and predictions: Maresca’s youthful side to cause Spurs problems
Tottenham state of play
Tottenham have started life positively under Thomas Frank, which is why they sit third in the Premier League after the opening nine fixtures.
However, they did suffer a bump in the road on Thursday night when Spurs were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Newcastle after losing 2-0.

Despite their lofty league position, that means Tottenham have only won one of their previous four matches. Which is less than ideal form as they prepare to face a team who they have only beaten once in their previous five meetings.
Regardless, the free-flowing attacking nature of this Spurs team is sure to cause problems, and has proven capable of beating anyone on their day.
Chelsea state of play
Fresh from defeating Wolves in the EFL Cup in a seven-goal thriller, Enzo Maresca’s men will be hoping to string together another winning run, which had been the case prior to their stoppage time defeat against Sunderland last weekend.
The Blues had won four games on the bounce before being beaten by the Black Cats at Stamford Bridge, and they will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Premier League at the first time of asking.

While Chelsea have proven to be entertaining on the eye this season, Maresca’s team have suffered from being inconsistent.
Despite their struggles, Chelsea have proven themselves to be a handful against top opposition and are a team that will cause attacking problems, which should provide them with opportunities.
Key talking point: Goals on the menu on Saturday night
Only Manchester City can match the 17 Premier League goals that both Tottenham and Chelsea have scored this season in the competition, therefore goals should be expected this weekend.
Spurs, who host Copenhagen in a crucial Champions League tie next week, scored three times against Everton last weekend, while Chelsea found the back of the net on four occasions in midweek against Wolves, proving that both teams know where the back of the net is.
FIRST’s top tip – Tottenham vs Chelsea
This is likely going to be a tight game, but backing Chelsea to win seems sensible given their recent form and midweek momentum.

Willian Estevao has been a handful for teams to deal with this season, and fresh from scoring against Wolves, I believe he could be on target again.

Pick: Estevao to score anytime – 12/5 (Betfred)
Given how many goals both teams have scored this season in the Premier League, it’s almost guaranteed there will be no clean sheets here.
