The Scottish yard have a stable full of established stars and younger horses with plenty of potential. Ed Quigley sat down with Assistant Trainer Peter Scudamore, to get the up-to-date plans for the 2025/2026 squad.

Ahoy Senor

"Obviously he isn't getting any younger, and we will keep him away from winter ground. He will stick to 2m4f for now then we will think about the Denman Chase, and then all being well, get him back for one more crack at the Aintree Bowl. We know he is a spring horse, and we would love him to have one more day in the sun."

Apple Away

"We will keep her to mares' races for now and then look to some bigger targets after Christmas. The Grand National trial at Haydock would look a natural race for her, and if the season went to plan, then she would end up in a Scottish National, all being well."

Conman John

"We were delighted with his win at Cheltenham, where he enjoyed the ground and loved the step up to three miles. I wouldn't want to put him in a heavy ground slog at this stage of his career, so we will tread carefully with him working backwards from the Albert Bartlett. There is a trial for that race on the New Course at Cheltenham in December, which would look a logical move providing the ground isn't riding too deep."

Caballo De Guerra

"I thought it was a decent run at Cheltenham over the weekend where we thought he would perform well on decent ground and a small field. It told us he needs more time to develop - mentally more than anything. We won't aim too high too soon, and we will plot our way through the season with him."

This lad has a lot of talent, but he seems to pick up stupid little niggles all the time. If he can stay sound, I think he is well handicapped, and soft ground is important to him. If we could sneak in the bottom of the weights for the Eider Chase that would be great, but there is a lot of water to go under the bridge between now and then."

Derryhassen Paddy

"He was most progressive last season and we are looking forward to seeing him over a fence. I'm not 100% sure where he will start yet, but we are very excited. He enjoys a bit of cut in the ground but I don't think spring ground will be an issue with him. We will see how he gets on, and then he will tell us whether he is a Brown Advisory horse or more of an Ultima type."

Imperfectlyperfect

"He's a lovely son of Walk In The Park and looks a very promising sort for this season. He won well at Hexham first time out on his first start over Hurdles, and he should strip a lot fitter for that. We will probably look for a Novice race under a penalty, and then if that goes well, we will look at something better in the New Year. At this stage of his career he has't shown us that he wants winter ground, so we will keep him to a sounder surface."

Inis Oirr

"Carlisle could be the starting point and it will be a case of trying to have him spit-on for the Edinburgh National once again (February 1). He has to go right-handed to be at his best."

Initially we were a little disappointed that he got beaten at Perth, but I think he just bumped into a very talented one on the day. There is a race at Musselburgh on New Year's Day that will really suit him, but we have to get him qualified for that first."

Jupiter Des Mottes

"He is going chasing and cut in the ground is important to him. We will look at 2m4f to begin with, but 3m will be his bag after Christmas, where we will look at some of those better handicap chases. It wouldn't surprise me if he ended up in an Ultima."

Myretown

He did us proud last season winning at the Cheltenham Festival, and this is an exciting season for him. We have discussed it with his owners, and we will probably give him another racecourse gallop and head straight to the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury at the end of November. We have toyed with the idea of a prep-run, but aren't sure that will be right for him. I think he has the potential to be better than his mark."

Whistle Stop Tour

"He needed the run last time out and I don't think he enjoys Perth as he seems to underperform when he goes there. The main aim for him at the moment is to get him to the Welsh Grand National - I think he would have a solid chance in that, where soft ground would really suit him."
