Ted's Treble: Racing picks for Sedgefield and Market Rasen

There is a lot of good action on Thursday, and Ed Quigley is back with his best three wagers for the afternoon.

Sedgefield - 2.34 Blue Topaz

We have a Maiden Hurdle on our hands for the mares, and this can go the way of recent impressive bumper scorer BLUE TOPAZ.

The five-year-old forged away in commanding style last month and looks more than ready to take a race of this nature in her stride as she now goes over Hurdles.

The step up in trip should pose no inconvenience , looking at her pedigree, and the booking of James Bowen for the Fergal O'Brien team only heightens confidence.

There is a distinct possibility that underfoot conditions could be on the slower side compared to last time, but being out of a Kayf Tara dam, she should be fine with cut in the ground.

The yard has been amongst the winners lately and their representative here looks to have a cracking chance of winning over obstacles under rules at the first time of asking.

Market Rasen - 2.58 Sandscape

After a very dry spell in regard to winners, the Henry Daly team are back in much better form now and looks to have a solid chance of adding another winner to the roster with the unexposed SANDSCAPE.

The five-year-old posted an improved effort when stepping up to this 2m7f trip over course and distance last time out.

He managed to take the silver medal position behind a horse that has franked the form by going on to win again since - there does appear to be a robustness to what is down in the formbook.

There should be more to come over staying trips for this lightly-raced sort who could easily have the scope to improve beyond a mark of 97.

The excellent Sam Tiwston-Davies takes the ride, and this combination can serve it up to his rivals here.

Market Rasen - 3.30 La Marquise

With the Jamie Snowden team in such electric form at present, it would be daft to overlook a revival from the Lambourn representative LA MARQUISE.

The five-year-old has not been firing on all cylinders lately and put in a lacklustre effort on the comeback trail at Ludlow last month. However, the ground was probably on the quick side for her, and she was entitled to sharpen up a lot for that outing after 284 days off the track.

Expected to be much fitter for this outing, and with the prospect of slower ground, she could easily show more with cheek pieces fitted for the first time.

The Jamie Snowden yard are operating at around a 45% strike-rate for November, and this mare, who has a touch of class, looks more than capable of getting involved at the business end of proceedings.

Gavin Sheehan takes the ride and I think she can bounce back.
