Warwick - 2.02 Jipcot

JIPCOT is an enigmatic character, but one with plenty of raw talent, and has a touch of class, as we saw when he bolted up at Newbury over Hurdles last season. He can be a bit of a hot head, but when it all clicks, he can take some stopping.

Flat tracks appear to really suit him, and he won't mind any rain that arrives as he has plenty of good form with cut in the ground. A flat, fairly tight track like Warwick should really suit, and if he can get in a rhythm first time out over the larger obstacles, then he could easily stamp his authority here.

The drop back to 2m4f looks a good move for this strong travelling sort, and he won't mind this small field scenario as it will give him a good sight of his obstacles.

Kielan Woods takes the ride, and this combination look to have leading claims for the Jonjo & Alex O'Neill team.

Warwick - 3.02 Pepe Le Moko e/w

This race has an open-looking feel to it, and this can go the way of PEPE LE MOKO.

The seven-year-old won this race two years ago, and so a return to this venue is clearly a positive, and given that the gelding is versatile in regard to underfoot requirements, he looks well-suited to this encounter.

From a handicapping perspective, he is starting to look well treated off a mark of 114 as he is now 5lb lower than when last successful. Being only seven, there could easily be more to come, and it is worth noting that he has a good record when fresh, so first time out for the season looks like the time to catch him.

Jane Williams has her string in good form at the moment, and Pepe Le Moko gets the nod from me with Ciaran Gethings taking the ride.

Warwick - 3.32 Moonlight Artist e/w

If the application of the first-time blinkers has the desired effect on MOONLIGHT ARTIST, the seven-year-old is more than capable of getting involved at the business end of proceedings off a mark of 78, which sees the gelding just 2lb higher than when last successful.

That win came at this track as well, so a return to Warwick could easily reignite the fire for the Joe Tizzard-trained individual who showed more of his old spark at Newton Abbot last time out when beaten by seven lengths.

This race is full of horses who blow hot and cold, and if Moonlight Artist can put his best foot forward, then he is more than capable of serving it up to the opposition here.

Brendan Powell was amongst the winners at the weekend, and he takes the ride for the Dorset handler.
