Ted's Treble: Three tips ahead of the Newmarket finale

It is the final day of Newmarket's July Festival, and Ed 'Longshot Ted' Quigley is back with his best bets for what should be a cracking day of action...

Newmarket - 2.12 Bountiful e/w 

I am going to take a chance on BOUNTIFUL returning to form in an assignment that looks much more suitable on paper than what she faced last time out. 

It is entirely possible that the combination of a 107-day break, 1m and the occasion of the Royal Meeting all got to her, and she failed to run her race.

The overriding feeling was that she didn't stay, so coming down one furlong in distance should be ideal for her. 

Eased to an official mark of 95, she is definitely looking well treated now, and could easily go well for a yard that have been amongst the winners lately and with underfoot conditions to suit. The excellent Billy Loughnane takes the ride and should go well for each-way backers.

Newmarket - 3.25 Bedouin Prince

BEDOUIN PRINCE is progressing at a rapid rate, and this lightly-raced colt comes into this encounter on a hattrick, and looks the one to beat here. 

The Charlie Appleby representative scrambled home over 10f two starts ago when racing too freely, but looked much happier back at 1m last time out, when winning easily on the other course at this venue.

He quickened up in good style and should have more to offer here. It is worth noting that the collateral form is working out really well from that race - the second and fifth have gone on to score since, so there is a robustness to that form which reads well. 

William Buick is in the saddle on this lightly-raced sort who could easily make up into a horse who is better than a mark of 100 as he delves into Handicap company for the first time off a mark of 100. The yard continues to operate in rude health and this combination could prove tough to beat.

Newmarket - 4.35 Whistlejacket e/w

We have a fascinating renewal of this Group 1 on our hands, with the extra intrigue of the 2024 2000 Guineas winner, Notable Speech dropping down in trip to 6f for the first time in his career having been campaigned exclusively at 1m. 

He's been supplemented for this, and clearly is the class act on his day, but does arrive with questions to answer at present, so looks skinny enough in the market from my point of view. 

My each-way preference is for the Ryan Moore and Aidan O'Brien trained WHISTLEJACKET, who was a tad unlucky to be sixth in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last time out. As a previous course and distance winner in a Group 2, he has to be feared returning to this track. 

He was a Group 1 winner last season, and if bringing his best form to the table could go well at an attractive price for an outfit that continues to fire in the winners.
