Ted's Treble: Royal Ascot 2025 day 3

Ed 'Longshot Ted' Quigley has been in great form this week. Below, he shares his best bets ahead of day three at Royal Ascot.

Royal Ascot - 3.05 Sing Us A Song e/w - 15/2 - 5 places (Ladbrokes)

Ralph Beckett landed this 12 months ago, and looks to have solid each-way claims with SING US A SONG. A winner of his last two starts, this progressive type showed versatility at Sandown last time out, when on the front end and on much quicker ground. He subsequently powered up the hill to win, pulling away.

That was over 10f, and he found plenty when called upon, and looked better the further he went. There is plenty of stamina in the pedigree, and dovetailed with the visual impression, there can easily be more improvement in the locker now he's upped to 12f for the first time.

A 7lb rise in the weights looks perfectly fair, and the ceiling of this individual's ability could easily lie beyond his given mark. Subsequently purchased by Wathnan Racing, I think this son of Camelot can flourish here, with the excellent James Doyle in the saddle.

Royal Ascot - 3.40 Catalina Delcarpio - 3/1 (Coral)

CATALINA DELCARPIO is light on experience but rates as an exciting prospect who can show more, now upped to 1m4f for the first time.

The daughter of Lope De Vega produced a taking performance when showing serious gears to land a Leopardstown maiden in grand style, and then finished runner-up last time out in a Group 3 behind Wemighttakedlongway, who went on to finish fourth in The Oaks. Catalina Delcarpio didn't get the smoothest of passages last time out, and didn't look totally in love with the Soft ground at Navan either.

There should be a good pace to aim at here though, and a combination of 1m4f and quick ground can see this exciting type cruise into contention, and prove a cut above her rivals for the Paddy Twomey stable with Billy Lee doing the steering.

Royal Ascot - 4.20 Candelari - 7/2 (Ladbrokes)

There is no Kyprios this time around, as the all-time great has been retired, so the door has been flung wide for a new star to arrive on the staying scene. I am not totally sold on Illinois, for all that he has to be respected, and I think this can go the way of France and CANDELARI.

This unexposed stayer landed Group 1 honours last time out, and seems to be progressing at a rate of knots. He stayed on powerfully to land the spoils last time, so gives every indicator that this distance could easily be on the radar. This is a division with a lot of the same old faces, and it looks ripe for something fresh to come through and lay down a marker for the staying crown.

He's thoroughly unexposed and brings a fresh angle to the race, whereas his rivals, for all that they are quality opponents, we know a lot about them - and their limitations have been exposed.
