The FA Cup semi-final weekend means we only have seven matches in the Premier League across Saturday and Sunday.

The final match could see Liverpool crowned as champions. Most of the other games will have little notable impact on the table but there’s still money to be made. 

Chelsea vs Everton betting tips

Matches between Chelsea and Everton are normally livelier at Stamford Bridge than at Goodison Park. The teams played out a 0-0 bore draw on Merseyside in December which extended the run to five meetings at Everton featuring a maximum of two goals.

Yet 12 months ago, this fixture ended in a 6-0 home win for Chelsea, with the preceding west London clash an entertaining 2-2 draw.

The formbook dictates you must back a low goal total though. Only one Everton away game since 1 December has paid out on over 2.5 goals, and even then there were only three.

With Chelsea tight at the back and struggling to score, this could be a tough watch.

Brighton vs West Ham betting tips

The most interesting aspect of this match is that former Brighton manager Graham Potter returns to the Amex stadium. He will hope for better with West Ham than when he visited as Chelsea gaffer, as they were thumped 4-1.

The Seagulls’ recent form makes a repeat unlikely, not that the Hammers have been much better. The former are winless in five league matches, the latter in six.

With nothing at stake, this could be exciting or it could be terrible. Either way, West Ham can avoid defeat. They have the better defensive record of the two recently and came within minutes of a point at Anfield in their last away game.

Newcastle vs Ipswich betting tips

Newcastle remain well placed in the race for Champions League qualification, but they need a win following a 4-1 thumping at Aston Villa last weekend. Having beaten Ipswich 4-0 this season, they make for perfect visitors to St James’ Park on Saturday.

The Tractor Boys have been more effective on the road than at home. They drew 2-2 at Chelsea in their previous away game, which followed a 2-1 victory at Bournemouth. 

And Ipswich may score here, but they won’t keep a lively attack quiet. Newcastle scored 15 goals when winning their last four home league games.

Both teams have seen over 3.5 goals pay out at an above average rate this season. This match should add another to their tallies.

Southampton vs Fulham betting tips

Southampton picked up one of their 11 points with a goalless draw at Craven Cottage. It’s not unreasonable to think they might get something here.

Sure, Fulham are much the better side, especially on the expected goal numbers. But they start the weekend 12 points above 17th-placed West Ham, but nine adrift of Aston Villa who are two places above them. They are the very definition of mid-table.

Hopefully the lack of jeopardy leads to an open clash. Fulham lead the Premier League for matches in which both teams scored. While the Saints have struggled for goals, they found the net in five of their last six matches. 

Anticipate action at both ends.

Wolves vs Leicester betting tips

Wolves are the form team in the Premier League. At the start of March, they were only five points above Leicester, yet they are now 17 points clear of the relegation zone while the Foxes have been demoted. 

A big part of Wolves’ resurgence has been the form of Jorgen Larsen. While he drew a blank last weekend, he scored five goals in the four matches prior.

Those strikes included both in a 2-1 win at Southampton plus winners against West Ham and Ipswich. Larsen has feasted on the weak, so back him to score here.

Bournemouth vs Manchester United betting tips

It’s so hard to predict Manchester United. Just when you think they’re done for 2024/25, they somehow came back from 4-2 down to beat (10-man) Lyon 5-4. 

They’ve had few joyful moments in the league though. If you disregard matches against the bottom three, United would be bottom of the table. That’s shameful for a club with their budget.

There’s a reasonable chance they score here, as Bournemouth’s recent clean sheet against Fulham ended a run of six home games without one. 

And as the Cherries have scored in all but two of their matches against the current bottom eight, we should be in for a few goals.

Liverpool vs Tottenham betting tips

Tottenham couldn’t spoil the party, could they? A point will secure a 20th league title for Liverpool, and while Spurs remain a big club, they will be 16th at best in the table when this game kicks off.

The combination of Tottenham’s 4-0 loss at Anfield in the Carabao Cup with their 6-3 home defeat in the last league clash does not bode well for their chances.

That said, they normally keep away matches against Liverpool close. Granted, the Reds usually win, but Spurs scored in their previous seven league visits.

Only two teams have lost more Premier League matches than Tottenham in which both teams scored this season, while only Aston Villa have more wins without clean sheets than Arne Slot’s men. 

You know what to do. Congratulations, Liverpool.
