Ted's Treble: Trio of picks for November Meeting Day 3

IMAGO: Sunday is the final day of Cheltenham's November Meeting
IMAGO: Sunday is the final day of Cheltenham's November Meeting

Sunday 16 is the last day of the November Meeting at Cheltenham - Ed Quigley closes the show with a three-fold of picks.

Cheltenham - 1.45 Jig's Forge

7/2 @ Ladbrokes

It was fascinating to hear Ben Pauling's comments regarding JIG'S GORGE, and that potentially he had got the trip wrong with his horse.

He put in some decent displays over Hurdles last season without excelling, and the Naunton Downs handler has suggested that he should have kept him to 2m4f rather than trying to stretch his stamina out over 3m.

He dotted up in his Maiden Hurdle at Ffos Las on very soft ground over today's trip and looked very much at home in that scenario, and this former winning Pointer can lay down a marker here where there should be plenty of juice in the ground. Plus, the Ben Pauling team are in glorious form.

The excellent  Ben Jones takes the ride on this unexposed six-year-old who should have a lot more to offer from a mark of 132. I think he could be well handicapped.

Cheltenham - 2.55 Beauport

7/2 @ Unibet

Connections of BEAUPORT will absolutely relish the rain that has been arriving at Cheltenham, and this trappy Handicap Chase can go the way of the Nigel & Willy Twiston-Davies combination.

The nine-year-old has an exceptional record when fresh, so first time out for the season is often the time to catch him. As a former winner of a Midlands Grand National on Heavy, he has stamina in spades, and that will really come into play here in what should be a proper war of attrition.

The Twiston-Davies team are in red-hot form during November, operating at around a 30% strike-rate for the month.

Beauport has no secrets from the Handicapper, but should have everything in place to run a massive race where a few individuals in here are potentially suspect stayers in the predicted conditions.

Cheltenham - 3.30 Iberico Lord e/w

10/1 @ Coral

All the rain that has arrived will not be a problem for the 2023 winner IBERICO LORD, who loves the mud. After winning on his Chase debut last season, he lost his way after taking a crashing fall and seemed to lose his confidence back over Hurdles.

However, he has an exceptional record when fresh, winning first time-out for the last two seasons, and his best form coincides with plenty of cut in the ground.

He is obviously higher in the weights now than when winning this two years ago, but off a mark of 139, he is only 5lb higher than when bolting up in last year's Betfair Hurdle, and conditions are very much in his favour this time around.

Nico De Boinville takes the ride for the Nicky Henderson team, and this combination look to have a cracking each-way chance.
