But according to the UK’s best bookmakers, these fiercely contested battles could impact the business of multiple Premier League powerhouses.
Premier League targets chased by European giants
Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres has sat at the heart of this summer’s rumour mill, with Arsenal (4/9, bet365) and Manchester United (7/2, William Hill) strongly linked with the 27-year-old.
However, reports detailing a switch to Juventus have emerged this week, and Betfred have the Swedish attacker to join the Old Lady at 7/1.
Gyokeres has already turned down one contract from the Italian titans, but a more lucrative package could prove too tempting to pass up.
Barcelona have reportedly agreed terms with one of Arsenal’s prime targets for 2025, Nico Williams. The young winger is priced at 1/6 (bet365) to sign with last season’s La Liga champions — a worthwhile punt, as the transfer appears highly likely.
Meanwhile, former Napoli frontman Victor Osimhen is 1/1 (BetVictor) to remain in Turkey following his loan spell at Galatasaray. Manchester United (8/1, Unibet) have the 26-year-old on their shortlist, but a switch to Saudi Arabia (9/4, Ladbrokes) is also an option.
Underperforming stars to attract big money
Rasmus Hojlund, Darwin Nunez and Jadon Sancho endured difficult campaigns at their respective Premier League clubs in 2024/25 — none of the aforementioned trio scored more than five goals in England’s top flight.
Hojlund, Manchester United’s 22-year-old forward, is expected to depart Old Trafford in favour of Inter Milan (8/11, William Hill). Or, should Juventus (7/2, Ladbrokes) fail to entice Gyokeres, the 36-time Serie A winners could focus on a move for the Danish international.
As for Liverpool, the £70m acquisition of Nunez in 2023 represents something of a failure. The Uruguayan never quite hit the heights seen during his Benfica days, and BetVictor now anticipate a move to Napoli (7/4).
Recent reports have outlined ongoing discourse between the Italian outfit and Nunez’s entourage - and Liverpool’s summer spree must be offset somehow. Thus, this one could take shape quickly.
Last on the docket is Jadon Sancho, who spent all of 2024/25 on loan at Chelsea. Napoli are keen on the ex-Borussia Dortmund starlet, as last year’s Italian champions seek to reinvigorate the 25-year-old’s career.
At 1/1 with Ladbrokes and Coral, Manchester United look set to secure some much-needed cash from an agreement here.
