Jennie Gow F1 predictions: Brazilian GP betting tips, odds and race preview
Formula One state of play
We have a new leader – in the Championship – welcome Lando Norris back to the top the first time since Bahrain (round four). Norris has outscored Oscar Piastri in five successive races to turn what was a 34-point deficit into a one-point advantage.
He takes the slimmest of leads going into the final four races (two sprint weekends), but is the lead more significant than just a point?

Psychologically it will have a larger impact, but also the momentum swing. Norris was third in the running to win the title before the race in Mexico, now he’s favourite to be crowned champion at the end of the season. Funny how pivotal one weekend can be.

With 116 points still up for grabs, Norris leads with 357, Piastri on 356, and Max Verstappen on 321, 36 behind his title rivals, but he likes Brazil, stating ahead of the race:
”Brazil is a special place for me, not only because of the incredible races and the great moments that we have had there, but also because my family in laws are also from Brazil.
“It can rain heavily there so you can have quite crazy races, especially last year’s race where we won after qualifying 17th, which was an emotional win and an important moment in the Championship”.
While it’s a long shot, don’t discount Verstappen from winning his fifth consecutive title at the end of the season. Something only done before by the great Michael Schumacher.

Brazilian Grand Prix predictions
Enter Interlagos (literal meaning, between two lakes), one of the greatest old-school tracks on the calendar, a place I love.
I expect things to reach fever-pitch this weekend with Brazilian 21-year-old rookie Gabiel Bortoleto taking to the track for Sauber for the first time in his F1 career. The fans are passionate, know their F1 and will receive the traveling circus with much flag-waving and excitement.
The layout at Interlagos is interesting, with hints of an anticlockwise oval circuit, which the drivers deal with 71 times in the race.
It boasts 15 corners. The combination of several straights and much twistier sections offer plenty of overtaking opportunities with differing strategy options possible.
Whether the Grand Prix will be dry is the first big question for the strategists…at this time of year, the weather and temperatures can vary greatly, something to seriously consider before making your plays, with a risk of frequent rain leading to a higher risk of safety cars, crashes and red flags.
Tyres will be one step harder than last year - the C2, C3 and C4, the hard, medium and soft tyres.
The circuit has been resurfaced from T12-T1 and between T3-4 leaving a less abrasive surface than in previous years, although there are still plenty of bumps to contend with.
The most successful driver at Interlagos is Michael Schumacher with four wins and ten podium finishes.
If Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton were to win this year, they would equal the German champion’s record at the Paulista track.
FIRST.com’s top tip - Brazilian GP
It’s hard to see past Verstappen as favourite for the win this weekend.
Even though he doesn’t like the format, he goes well at a sprint event, taking all the spoils in America and winning in Belgium, the sprint race before that.
Strategy talk: Reading constructor standings for better bets
If the Red Bull driver takes the most out of the weekend and wins both races (at full distance) he could close the gap to his title rivals to at least 28 points with three races (one sprint) to go.
Pick: Max Verstappen to win the sprint race - 7/5 (Ladbrokes)
Pick: Max Verstappen to win the Brazilian GP - 6/4 (Ladbrokes and 10bet)
Extra tips
Mind the gap: The average pole margin in qualifying in the last 10 F1 events at Interlagos has been 0.111 seconds. With the tight margins separating cars this season, I’d expect a tiny gap separating pole and p2.
Pick: Between 0.1 Secs & 0.25 Secs - 7/4 (Ladbrokes)
Pole to win odds: 18 of 40 races have been won from pole (30 from the front row). If we take the last 10 races however, seven have been converted from pole position.
Pick: To win qualifying and to win the Grand Prix (10bet)
Max Verstappen - 10/3
Lando Norris - 7/2
Oscar Piastri - 11/1
Charles Leclerc - 33/1
George Russell - 40/1
Lewis Hamilton - 66/1
Kimi Antonelli - 150/1

Taking the flag: Of the 900 cars that have started races at Interlagos, 584 have reached the chequered flag. An overall finish rate of 64.8%.
Pick: Under 18.5 race finishers - 4/9 (Ladbrokes) / Under 17.5 race finishers - 5/4 (Ladbrokes)
Busy Bernd: 15 of the last 23 Brazilian GP’s have featured a Safety Car. The highest number of safety car periods in one race at the track is five, which occurred in 2016. (Bernd Maylander drives the safety car)
Pick: Safety car to feature - Yes - 4/11 (10bet)
Home race: Bortoleto will become the first Brazilian driver to take part in his home race since Felipe Massa at the 2017 Brazilian Grand Prix.
The Sauber racers highest finish in F1 is sixth in Hungary (he’s had five top 10 finishes, most recently 10th in Mexico last time out)
Pick: Grand Prix points finish - Gabriel Borteleto (Sauber) - 7/5 (10bet)
Look for a long-shot: Of the last 18 podium finishes, 11 have come from fourth or further back on the grid. Search for a long-shot making the podium.
Pick: Grand Prix podium finish (10bet)
George Russell - 6/4
Lewis Hamilton - 5/2
Kimi Antonelli - 14/1
Fernando Alonso - 40/1
Carlos Sainz - 66/1
Alex Albon - 66/1
Ollie Bearman - 66/1
Gabriel Borteleto - 100/1
Rain pain: Last year’s qualifying had to be delayed due to torrential rain.
It finally took place on Sunday morning, with the race starting that afternoon. I wouldn’t bet against the same happening this year looking at the forecast.
