Liverpool transfer odds: How champions will fund major summer spree
Club captain Virgil van Dijk set the tone for Liverpool’s expected transfer window activity in the immediate aftermath of the club’s Premier League title celebrations – as the centre-back told NBC Sports that a “massive summer in terms of players coming in” awaits.
Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have remained consistent in their approach when it comes to high-profile arrivals: the club must accrue funds in order to welcome fresh talent.

So, how will the champions fund an imminent summer spree to defend their crown? And, more pertinently, who might they target?
Fire-sale expected
In years gone by, Liverpool were forced to shift vital squad members in exchange for critical cash to strengthen weakened positions.
But, in 2025, the state of affairs is distinctly different. The club now presides over several big-name players – with certain individuals underperforming compared to team-mates. On the other side of the coin, some exemplary stars will attract a pretty penny.
UK bookmakers, such as bet365, Paddy Power, Sky Bet and Ladbrokes have all published odds on potential comings and goings at L4 - with valuable prices outlined here.
Attackers to exit
Darwin Nunez scored seven goals in 47 appearances across all competitions and is 6/4 to join any Saudi Arabian team at Ladbrokes. Diogo Jota failed to achieve double-digit scoring figures while playing at least 30 games for the first time since 2017 - the Portuguese international has been linked with Newcastle and Aston Villa.
Harvey Elliott endured limited playing time under Arne Slot’s debut campaign as head coach and the 22-year-old is 11/8 at bet365 to join Bayer Leverkusen.
Colombian winger, Luis Diaz, is publicly admired by Barcelona. Any move by the Catalan outfit to secure his services would demand a significant fee.
Defensive departures
For long-time left-back Andy Robertson, a transfer to Atletico Madrid (7/2, William Hill) could be on the cards. The Scotsman has struggled to maintain his place in the squad throughout 2024/25 and, with one year remaining on his contract, Liverpool may opt to cash in now.
Ibrahima Konate is another with 12 months until his current Liverpool deal expires - as rumours that Real Madrid will look to snap up another of the club’s defenders on a free transfer next summer, in the wake of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to the Galacticos.
Potential arrivals
Jeremie Frimpong is set to replace the departing Alexander-Arnold at right-back, as reports of a £30m deal between Leverkusen and Liverpool gain traction.
Frimpong’s Leverkusen team-mate, Florian Wirtz, is heavily linked with a switch to Merseyside. Having allegedly rejected Bayern Munich in favour of Liverpool, bookies have suspended markets on the 22-year-old’s next employer.
Alexander Isak (6/1, BetMGM) and Hugo Ekitike (1/1, BetVictor) are of significant interest to Liverpool’s transfer department. Welcoming either forward would necessitate a hefty sum – but they must hire fresh faces to vie for titles in 2025/26.
